D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU) continues to strengthen its position as a national leader in science and technology. In cooperation with Astana International University (AIU) and SpaceLab, a Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed in the field of scientific and technological research and development.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects of implementing SpaceLab’s space programme and the IoVIT project, as well as the possibility of launching the first university picosatellite. This initiative aims to give new momentum to the development of Kazakhstan’s space technologies, enhance national scientific potential, and improve the country’s competitiveness in the space sector.
The agreement provides for collaboration in several key areas:
- integration of satellite technologies (KazSat, SpaceLab, and others) into the national monitoring system;
- creation of pilot zones equipped with sensors and the implementation of artificial intelligence models;
- involvement of students and young researchers in scientific projects, organisation of internships, and establishment of joint laboratories.
The partnership opens up new horizons for both universities and creates conditions for the active participation of Kazakhstan’s youth in world-class research, uniting education, science, and the real sector of the economy.
