D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University welcomed a delegation of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) of the Republic of India, headed by Lieutenant Colonel Kalra Karan. A comprehensive program was organized as part of the visit, aimed at developing international cooperation, exchanging experience, and strengthening friendly ties between the youth of Kazakhstan and India.
One of the key parts of the program was a visit to the Military Department of EKTU. Members of the Indian delegation familiarized themselves with the department’s educational facilities and technical resources and met with students and faculty members. Joint training sessions and sports competitions were also held, providing an opportunity for students from both countries to communicate and exchange experience.
Particular attention was paid to the university’s scientific and educational potential. The delegation visited EKTU’s educational laboratories, where the guests were introduced to modern developments, key areas of research, and the university’s capabilities in training highly qualified technical specialists.
The cultural program gave the guests an opportunity to discover East Kazakhstan and learn more about the region. Excursions to parks and cultural sites in Ust-Kamenogorsk were organized for the delegation, along with a one-day trip to the Prostor student campus and a boat trip around the bay near the Ust-Kamenogorsk Hydroelectric Power Plant. The guests had an opportunity to enjoy the region’s natural attractions and learn about its historical and cultural heritage.
One of the highlights of the program was the celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of India on August 15. A flower-laying ceremony was held at the bust of the renowned Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore at the East Kazakhstan Museum-Reserve of Architecture, Ethnography and Natural Landscapes. The Department of Social and Youth Policy of EKTU also organized a concert program as part of the celebration.
Cooperation between D. Serikbayev EKTU and the National Cadet Corps of the Republic of India has been developing for more than ten years, since 2015. As part of strengthening international ties, officers and students of the EKTU Military Department have visited India and participated in cultural events and the “Desert Safari” program.
In turn, cadets and officers of the National Cadet Corps of India have visited EKTU for the seventh time as part of reciprocal visits. Such meetings contribute to the development of youth diplomacy, the exchange of experience, and the strengthening of friendly relations between Kazakhstan and India.
The latest visit of the NCC delegation continued the long-standing partnership and reaffirmed the mutual interest of both sides in further developing educational, cultural, and international cooperation.
