From 11 to 17 August 2025, D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU) hosted a delegation of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) of the Republic of India, led by Colonel Narayan Ranjeet.

The visit featured a rich programme of events aimed at strengthening international cooperation and promoting intercultural exchange.

Throughout the visit, the delegation enjoyed excursions to the scenic parks and cultural landmarks of Ust-Kamenogorsk, a one-day trip to the university’s “Prostor” student camp, and a boat tour across the Ust-Kamenogorsk Hydroelectric Reservoir.

These activities allowed the guests to experience the region’s unique natural beauty and the welcoming atmosphere of East Kazakhstan.

A highlight of the visit was the delegation’s tour of EKTU’s Military Sub-Department, where they became acquainted with its educational and technical facilities and met with students and faculty members.

Joint training sessions and friendly sporting competitions were held, fostering friendship and mutual understanding between the students of both countries.

The delegation also visited the university’s scientific laboratories, where they were introduced to EKTU’s achievements in research and education and learned about the history and cultural heritage of the East Kazakhstan Region.

On 15 August, to mark India’s Independence Day, a flower-laying ceremony was held at the bust of the renowned Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore in the Architectural, Ethnographic and Natural Landscape Museum-Reserve, followed by a concert programme organised by the Department for Social and Youth Policy.

The partnership between EKTU and the National Cadet Corps of India has been ongoing since 2015, marking a decade of cooperation.

Over the years, officers and students of EKTU’s Military Department have visited India, participating in cultural events and the Desert Safari programme.

In turn, NCC cadets and officers have now visited EKTU for the fifth time, reinforcing the long-standing friendship and mutual respect between the two nations.
