This week, a large-scale environmental campaign called “Taza Kazakhstan” took place across the country, bringing together more than 600,000 participants. As part of the initiative, around 2.4 million seedlings were planted, and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev personally took part in the tree planting at the Botanical Garden in the capital.
The D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University also actively supported the campaign. On October 11, staff members of the Office of Sustainable Development, together with faculty and students of the School of Earth Sciences, participated in the event held in the area of the Amphitheater in Ust-Kamenogorsk.
University participants planted fir trees, contributing to the greening of their hometown and supporting the nationwide “Taza Kazakhstan” initiative. The event was also attended by the regional akim, representatives of youth organizations, and concerned local residents.
This event became an important contribution to the formation of environmental culture, the promotion of sustainable development principles, and the strengthening of civic responsibility. May every tree planted become a symbol of purity, unity, and care for the future of our country!
