On June 18, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), an international higher education analytics agency, published the results of the QS World University Rankings 2027, one of the world’s most authoritative university rankings.
This year, 8,467 universities from 106 countries were assessed, with the top 1,501 institutions included in the final ranking. Universities were evaluated across key areas of activity, including research, teaching quality, graduate employability, internationalisation, and contribution to sustainable development.
D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University has once again been recognised among the world’s leading universities, ranking 1,036th in the QS World University Rankings 2027 and placing within the #1001–1200 band.
Despite intensifying international competition, EKTU has maintained a strong position in the global ranking for the third consecutive year and ranks 9th among universities in Kazakhstan.
Compared with the previous year, the most significant progress was achieved in the following indicators: international faculty ratio (+83%), employment outcomes (+75%), international student ratio (+55%), employer reputation (+25%), and sustainability (+21%).
The improvement in these indicators reflects the University’s systematic efforts to expand international cooperation, enhance the quality of professional training, and strengthen EKTU’s position in the global higher education landscape.
The University’s strong performance in the QS ranking confirms its international competitiveness, contributes to strengthening its academic reputation, expands opportunities for cooperation, and enhances its attractiveness to students, faculty members, and employers.
We congratulate the University community, students, alumni, and partners on this significant achievement and thank everyone for their contribution to the development of EKTU and the strengthening of its international standing.
