On 28 November 2025, in Ust‑Kamenogorsk, the Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gulzat Kobyenova, visited the East Kazakhstan Regional Technopark “Altay” to learn about its activities, projects, and its role in advancing high‑technology solutions in the region. The Technopark is a spin‑off company of D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University, established to commercialize research and support innovation in the region.
During the visit, the Vice‑Minister was introduced to the key focus areas of the technopark and its strategic initiatives to support innovation, technology development, and the commercialization of research outcomes. Particular attention was given to partnerships and collaborative efforts with businesses and research teams aimed at scaling technological solutions and fostering an ecosystem of spin‑off ventures emerging from university research and industry collaborations.
A significant part of the visit was marked by signing several memoranda of cooperation between the technopark and innovative companies operating in the region:
- With DJAS Company LLC, focusing on the development of inclusive domestic equipment for people with disabilities, including joint projects and localized production.
- With GeoProject Corporation LLC, establishing collaboration on the design and development of above‑water drones for environmental monitoring of small rivers and tailings storage facilities using modern technologies.
- With IB Project LLC, advancing direct and reverse engineering capabilities to accelerate rapid prototyping and serial production of complex technological equipment needed by the mining, agro‑industrial, and other sectors.
The Vice‑Minister’s visit highlighted the importance of the Altay Technopark as a key regional centre that promotes technological development, supports spin‑off and startup activities, and provides a platform for advanced engineering solutions that contribute to regional and national innovation agendas.
This engagement underscores the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening Kazakhstan’s innovation ecosystem and accelerating the translation of research into practical, market‑oriented technologies.
