New opportunities to develop modern digital skills are becoming available in East Kazakhstan. Initiated and supported by the Akimat of the East Kazakhstan Region, Tomorrow School, a school of programming and artificial intelligence, is being launched at D. Serikbayev EKTU in partnership with Astana Hub and alem.ai.
For EKTU, participation in the project is an opportunity to strengthen the University’s educational and technological environment, connect academic knowledge with modern IT practices, and make new technologies more accessible to people across the region.
Importantly, Tomorrow School is not limited to EKTU students. It is open to anyone interested in IT and artificial intelligence, regardless of their academic background, profession, or previous level of experience. The program is free of charge, while the selection process focuses primarily on applicants’ abilities, motivation, and willingness to learn.
The program is based on the modern peer-to-peer learning model. Instead of traditional lectures, participants learn through independent study, collaboration, peer assessment, teamwork, and practical projects. They can develop their skills in eight areas: AI Engineering, Software Development, Fullstack Development, Mobile Development, DevOps, Cybersecurity, Game Development, and IT Architecture.
Training is delivered through the international 01 Edu platform. The selection process includes registration, online logic and memory challenges, a questionnaire, an introductory check-in event, and an intensive four-week «Basin» stage. Successful participants then proceed to the main training program.
For the University, it is particularly important that the project creates an open learning environment not only for students but for the wider community. Digital skills and artificial intelligence are becoming increasingly important across many professional fields, and opportunities to develop these competencies should be available to everyone who is ready to learn and grow.
Implemented with the support of the East Kazakhstan Region Akimat and in partnership with leading technology organizations, the project is another important step toward developing the region’s modern IT ecosystem, strengthening human capital, and preparing specialists for the new economy.
Tomorrow School will operate at D. Serikbayev EKTU: 69 Protozanov Street, Room 405.
