From 6 to 14 October 2025, within the framework of the international Erasmus+ ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE project “Development of Innovative Curricula and Modules in Circular Economy and Sustainable Development – CirculEC”, monitoring visits will be conducted at leading universities in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
The programme of visits includes the following universities:
- 6–7 October – Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz (Kazakhstan);
- 9–10 October – Westminster International University in Tashkent and Central Asian University (Uzbekistan);
- 13–14 October – Tajik State University of Commerce (Tajikistan), and
- 10-13 November – Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management and Turkmen State Financial Institute in Ashgabat
During the visits, project partners will carry out monitoring and a comprehensive evaluation of the pilot implementation of newly developed educational modules on circular economy and sustainable development. These materials are being introduced at the bachelor’s, master’s, and lifelong learning levels. Particular attention will be given to the quality of adaptation of the modules to national educational systems, as well as the degree of engagement of faculty and students in the learning process.
The monitoring results will be consolidated into a Final Report, which will serve as an important tool for integrating the principles of sustainable development into the educational practices of Central Asian universities and will help establish common approaches for the further dissemination of innovative modules and represents an important step toward advancing environmental initiatives in line with national and international sustainable development goals.
Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University, as the grant holder and coordinator of the CirculEC project, continues to play a key role in advancing international academic cooperation and modernizing engineering and economic education. The university’s participation in the project contributes to the training of a new generation of specialists equipped with competencies in circular economy and prepared to address the challenges of global sustainable development.
The monitoring visits will mark a significant stage in strengthening partnerships, sharing academic experience, and jointly developing educational solutions oriented towards the future.
