During the scientific visit, researchers from the International Research Center “Digital Social Research” visited the İstanbul Üniversitesi Merkez Kütüphanesi (Istanbul University Central Library), İstanbul Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Kütüphanesi (Faculty of Literature Library), İstanbul Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi Kütüphanesi (Faculty of Theology Library), and the Türkiyat Araştırmaları Enstitüsü Kütüphanesi (Library of the Institute of Turkic Studies).

While working with the libraries’ information resources, the researchers reviewed scientific publications devoted to family issues and the transformation of the family institution. Works by Turkish scholars specializing in family studies over the past fifty years were examined, including publications of particular relevance to the project:

  • Çiğdem Kağıtçıbaşı. Family, Self, and Human Development Across Cultures: Theory and Applications.
  • Nermin Abadan-Unat. Women in Turkish Society, Social Change and Turkish Women, and other works.

The analysis of these monographic studies provides valuable insights into the development and current state of family institutions in Türkiye and beyond.
