For the purpose of attracting external funding sources and implementing joint scientific projects in the territories of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Germany, systematic work is being carried out in the following areas:
- Selection, initiation, and implementation of international scientific projects;
- Development and implementation of educational programs, including double-degree programs;
- Development of a quality assurance system;
- Academic mobility of students, faculty, and researchers.
Currently, the following results have been achieved:
1. The international scientific project TiBeRIUM – Titanium and Beryllium for European Resilience and Innovative Utilization of Minerals under the Horizon Europe program, Pillar 2, has been successfully won.
Coordinator – strategic partner of K-GIST, TU Bergakademie Freiberg.
Total project budget – €8 million.
2. Foreign funding has been secured for the implementation of four educational projects for 2026–2028:
- DAAD ISAP program (double degree in “Applied Geology,” academic mobility for faculty and master’s students; partner – Ruhr University Bochum);
- DAAD Ostpartnerschaften program (partner – Nuremberg University of Applied Sciences; participation in Business Campus Week, summer schools, and conferences);
- g.a.s.t. test center (conducting TestDaF and TestAS exams online; partner – Ruhr University Bochum);
- International Summer School StemCamp (June 8–9, 2026; participants – high school students grades 9–11 and young scientists; organizers – Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund, University of Duisburg-Essen).
