For the purpose of ensuring the sustainable development of the Institute, in full compliance with its goals and objectives, a Consortium Agreement on the Development of the Kazakh-German Institute of Science and Technology (Agreement on Joint Activities) was signed on September 22, 2025, together with leading technical universities of Germany.

The Consortium includes the following universities:

  • D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (Kazakhstan);
  • Kazakh-German University (Kazakhstan);
  • TU Bergakademie Freiberg (Germany);
  • Ruhr University Bochum (Germany);
  • Clausthal University of Technology (Germany);
  • TU Dortmund University (Germany);
  • University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany).

The establishment of the Consortium of leading technical universities is primarily aimed at strengthening cooperation in science and education, promoting knowledge exchange, and advancing international scientific collaboration.

Within the framework of the Agreement, the Consortium members expressed their mutual readiness to support the development of the Institute in the following priority areas:

  • geology and mineral exploration;
  • circular mining;
  • smart materials;
  • environmental and energy technologies.
