In April 2023, D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (VKTU) and Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus-Zenftenberg (BTU, Germany) signed a cooperation agreement providing for the implementation of a joint dual master's degree program. The program is based on the integration of the educational program "Metallurgy" of the CGTU and the master's program "Light Engineering and Materials Technology" of the BTU.

The VKTU program can be found at the link: /departments/sc_mecheng/eduproglist/magistracy/metallurgy.aspx?lang=en

The BTU program can be found at the link: https://www.b-tu.de/en/leichtbau-werkstofftechnologie-ms

Within the framework of the joint program, students are given the opportunity to master an agreed educational trajectory, carry out research work on modern high-tech equipment of CGTU and BTU, as well as participate in scientific projects, academic exchanges and internship programs.

The curriculum focuses on the formation and deepening of competencies necessary for the transformation of metals into finished products in the context of materials design and production processes. Upon completion of their studies, undergraduates acquire fundamental knowledge and practical skills in materials science, manufacturing technologies, modeling and engineering design methods, as well as competencies in the development and design of lightweight structures. The program is interdisciplinary in nature and provides the formation of technological competencies covering a wide range of research areas and areas of practical application.

Admission requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, in particular in metallurgy, materials technology, mechanical engineering or Materials Science;
  • German language proficiency at the B2-C1 level (students of CGTU provide a certificate upon completion of the first year of study).

In April 2023, the D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (ektu) and the German Brandenburg Technological University (Btu) of Kotbus-Zenftenberg signed a cooperation agreement for the implementation of a double master's degree program. The program is based on the integration of the educational program "Metallurgy" of ektu and the master's program "technology of light engineering and materials" of BTU.
