In the 2024–2025 academic year, a number of surveys were conducted at EKTU (“The University through the Eyes of Graduates,” “The University through the Eyes of First-Year Students,” “The Teacher through the Eyes of Students,” “The Teacher through the Eyes of Colleagues,” and “Assessment of the IMS”). Their results are systematically reviewed at meetings of the Coordinating Council for the Integrated Management System and the quality commissions of the schools. Students and academic staff identified key areas for development: the educational process and scheduling, conditions in academic buildings and dormitories, navigation, first-year student adaptation, and the importance of the curatorship (advising) system. The results are available on the university website: /abouttheuniversity/qms/svok/poll.aspx?lang=ru.

Based on the feedback received, the university implemented a comprehensive set of improvements.

Over the past year, youth scientific and entrepreneurial activity has shown positive dynamics: The University organized EKTU DEMO DAY, intensified efforts to support student startups, and expanded opportunities for students to participate in innovation and entrepreneurial projects. Student engagement in campus life has significantly increased—to 80%. Students actively participate in events at the national, regional, and city levels, including KVN, volunteer activities, and social initiatives. Creative competitions for talented students have been resumed and are now held on a regular basis, including “Koktem Aruy,” “First-Year Talents,” and “Student Spring.” As part of fostering financial literacy and financial safety awareness among young people, as well as preventing involvement in illegal economic activities, EKTU launched a series of events titled “Law and Order.”

The university has introduced a set of measures to improve the organization of the educational process and enhance student comfort. The university has updated the timetable system: the academic workload is now more evenly distributed across the week, long breaks between classes have been reduced, and classes are scheduled, where possible, in nearby classrooms or within the same building. In addition, the university now informs students more effectively through electronic systems and online platforms that allow them to track changes promptly.

Within the AI-Sana project, the university is introducing modern AI-based digital solutions. In 2025, the university implemented an intelligent scheduling module based on genetic algorithms, allowing it to account for a large number of constraints and create optimal academic timetables. The university also modernized the proctoring system: computer vision technologies now analyze student behavior during online exams, improving academic integrity and making assessment more objective.

Furthermore, the university is actively developing its digital learning environment and infrastructure. In particular, the university has expanded access to international online learning via the Coursera platform: between 2023 and 2025, thousands of students completed courses from leading global universities and obtained international certificates. At the same time, the university is also improving conditions for study and leisure — for example, it has created additional comfortable seating in the fiction reading room.

To support the health of students, faculty, and staff, fitness gyms operate from Monday to Friday. In addition, gyms are available in student dormitories. The schedule is available at the Health and Sports Center.
As part of the infrastructure improvement program, the university has completed key stages of renovation work in academic and administrative buildings. The university focused on upgrading classrooms, replacing utility systems, and improving living conditions in dormitories. The main building underwent comprehensive renovation: the university refurbished classrooms on the floors of buildings G2 and G1, replaced door units, repaired corridor flooring, and installed glass partitions in several classrooms to improve natural lighting. The university also renovated dormitories No. 1, 2, and 3, including corridors and residential rooms.

The university has integrated its infrastructure into a unified corporate domain with Internet access speeds of up to 500 Mbps. A seamless Wi-Fi network, along with inter-building connectivity via encrypted L2TP VPN tunnels, ensures a unified digital environment for academic and work activities.

The university has allocated computer labs used for educational purposes to a separate domain, which enhances the information security of the corporate network. The academic network is managed using a virtual router. In 2025, the university modernized four computer labs by purchasing and deploying 50 all-in-one computers.
