D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU) was honoured to welcome His Excellency Mr. Mohamad Fadjrul Rachman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tajikistan, on an official visit.
The delegation included representatives of the Embassy of Indonesia as well as students from leading Indonesian universities — President University (Bekasi), Gontor University (East Java), Airlangga University (Surabaya), and Ciputra University (Jakarta).
Their presence symbolised academic mobility and cultural exchange, highlighting the role of youth as key ambassadors of dialogue between nations.
The programme of the visit included a meeting with the university leadership, a public lecture titled “Indonesian Diplomacy”, and a cultural segment featuring a Kazakh national dance and traditional Indonesian performances — Tari Ondel-Ondel Betawi and Tari Tor Tor Hota Sapusik.
The event became not only a diplomatic but also a cultural occasion, promoting mutual understanding and strengthening friendship between Kazakhstan and Indonesia.
During the discussions, the parties explored prospects for establishing partnerships between EKTU and Indonesian universities.
Key areas of cooperation include joint educational programmes, academic exchange of students and faculty, organisation of scientific and cultural events, and the development of youth initiatives.
The visit of the Indonesian delegation marked an important step for EKTU in expanding its international cooperation.
For students of both countries, it opens new opportunities to learn, conduct research, and grow within the global educational environment.
This event signified a new chapter in the educational and scientific partnership between Kazakhstan and Indonesia, in line with the policy of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to strengthen international relations and develop human capital.
