As part of the national environmental initiative “Taza Kazakhstan”, as well as the Green Campus and ReStart projects, an additional plastic waste collection point has been installed at the university.

To support the organization of separate waste collection, a special holder for big bags was purchased, while the ReStart project provided big bags for the temporary accumulation of plastic bottles, followed by their transfer for recycling. This measure is aimed at reducing the volume of plastic waste and fostering environmentally responsible behavior among university staff and students.

We encourage the university community to actively support this initiative by installing eco-boxes for the separate collection of plastic bottles in classrooms and office spaces. The eco-boxes are intended exclusively for plastic bottles and contribute to the organized and aesthetically appropriate accumulation of recyclable materials.

Collected plastic can be transferred for recycling in two ways:

  • through the reverse vending machine (fandomat) located on the first floor of the university, with the option to receive bonuses;
  • through centralized collection by university staff, followed by loading into big bags and delivery for recycling.

The implementation of this initiative aligns with the key objectives of the “Taza Kazakhstan” program, which aims to foster a culture of cleanliness, promote responsible attitudes toward the environment, and engage society in practical environmental actions.
