A delegation from D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University participated in a series of international events held from April 14 to 17 in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.

As part of the visit, the official opening ceremony of the International Forum “Cooperation for Sustainable Development: Green. Digital. Intelligent” was held. The ceremony brought together high-level representatives of the Government of Tajikistan, including the Deputy Prime Minister, the Assistant to the President for Social Development and Public Relations, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, and the Chairman of the State Committee for Investments and State Property Management. The event was also attended by representatives of the executive authorities of Dushanbe, members of the diplomatic corps, rectors of leading universities of Tajikistan and international higher education institutions, as well as representatives of ministries, agencies, and the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.

A welcoming address was delivered by Professor Ubaydullo  Asrorzoda, Rector of International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan. In his remarks, he expressed gratitude to the Government of Tajikistan for supporting the initiative to host the forum and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in the fields of sustainable development, the green economy, digital transformation, and the implementation of intelligent technologies. He also warmly welcomed the international participants and noted that the forum would serve as an important platform for enhancing global cooperation.

As part of the cultural program, the delegation visited a festival-exhibition of national heritage and attended a performance at the Sadriddin Ayni State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.

On the following day, the delegation visited the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, where festive events dedicated to Nowruz were held, along with a presentation of the university’s achievements. The business agenda included the Summit of “Green” University Rectors, a meeting of the Central Asian Rectors’ Club, and the II International Conference “The Contribution of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and Green Diplomacy.”

The forum brought together representatives from more than 50 countries, including South Korea, China, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and many others.

In addition, a meeting was held with representatives of Tajik National University to discuss prospects for further cooperation. The discussions focused on inviting visiting professors, faculty exchange, the development of student academic mobility, as well as joint research publications and educational initiatives.

The delegation included Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Araily Sarsembayeva and Project Manager of the Department of International Cooperation Aisaule Nurgazy.

The visit was organized at a high level and proved to be highly productive. Participation in the forum and related events contributed to strengthening existing partnerships, establishing new professional connections, and identifying promising areas for further international cooperation in education, science, and sustainable development.
