“The system of assessment and selection of scientific researches. Strengthening of cooperation in research activity” round table, organized by “National Center of the State Scientific and Technical Examination” JSC in conjunction with British Council, took place in D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan state technical university with the support of RK ESM. More than 300 representatives of domestic higher education institutions, scientific research institutes and other domestic scientific organizations and 20 leading researchers from Great Britain took part in it.

The round table is focused on discussion of questions of of of scientific researches quality improvement, on knowledge exchange, expansion of research partnership and strengthening of ties between scientists of two countries.

The president of JSC "NCSSTE" Asanbay Dzhumabekov made a welcoming speech at plenary session. He noted that during modernization of the Kazakhstan science important steps are taken for legislative base improvement in order to upgrade examination, and also for support and development of scientists intellectual potential. This seminar is a striking example of internationalization and science integration. Today it is very important to give the chance to talented scientists to cooperate with their colleagues on the international level.

In turn, addressing the gathering, director of British Council in Kazakhstan Simon Williams expressed hope that the ongoing international seminar on strengthening partnerships between young scientists from Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom will be the start of long-term cooperation in the field of education. He noted that the international cooperation is a good opportunity to improve conducted researches quality, besides it considerably increases efficiency of scientific work. Great Britain has extensive experience in area of researches, but the British scientists also would like to cooperate at the international level with Kazakhstan to exchange ideas for the solution of global problems of the future.

– Priorities of our scientific cooperation are defined by the Government of Kazakhstan, and they correspond to priorities which are put forward for itself by Great Britain. At a forum we will discuss joint projects and already upon completion of discussions we will identify the priority directions and specific projects, – Simon Williams reported. – I also hope that the number of publications which will influence development of young scientists of our countries will be increased. In a word, we hope "to open" concrete cooperation, specific joint projects that will serve development of our young scientists’ potential.

Vice-president of science committee of RK ESM Amandyk Tuleshov is sure that the Kazakh-British scientific forum will allow to strengthen cooperation of young scientists of two countries.

– For definition of the most actual directions of scientific projects we conducted foresight researches last year, as a result of which eight directions were defined, strategically important for economy of Kazakhstan and closely connected among themselves, – A.Tuleshov emphasized. – It is a power, the deep processing, new materials, technologies which are being implemented in the agro-industrial sector, alternative energy, renewable power, a robotics, and intellectual systems. We will consider the results of these foresight researches at a choice of projects.

Within a seminar the work of the National center of the state scientific and technical examination, the results of the "System Analysis and Science Forecasting" project were presented. Preparation of applications for grant and program-aimed financing according to the international standards is considered. At the same time Kazakhstan and British scientists discussed a subject of regional use of mineral resources. In practical part of a seminar the fact-finding trip on Kazzink mine was organized.
