Replastic is a student startup at D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University that converts post-consumer plastic bottles into filament for additive manufacturing. The project combines separate waste collection, plastic recycling, and digital manufacturing technologies, transforming plastic waste into a valuable raw material for 3D printing.

Collected plastic bottles are cleaned, processed, shredded, and converted into filament suitable for producing educational models, engineering prototypes, and functional components. By giving plastic waste a second life, the project reduces the demand for virgin materials, minimizes plastic pollution, and promotes the principles of the circular economy through value-added recycling.

The initiative enables students to gain practical experience in polymer recycling, additive manufacturing, and sustainable engineering while developing innovative environmental solutions. Replastic demonstrates how student-led innovation can integrate resource efficiency, advanced manufacturing, and environmental responsibility to support a more sustainable university campus and contribute to the transition toward a circular economy.
