Description: This course introduces students to the fundamentals of engineering, current trends in the development of radio electronics and infocommunication technologies, the requirements for professional engineering education, as well as the principles of standardization, metrological support, occupational health and safety, environmental safety, sustainable development, and resource conservation. The course provides students with an understanding of the role of these requirements in the design, production, and operation of radio engineering devices and infocommunication systems, while emphasizing the importance of engineering responsibility and professional ethics.

Goal
  • to provide students with an understanding of the peculiarities of professional activities of bachelors and specialists in the fields of radioelectronics and electronic instrumentation, the necessary competencies for successful implementation of these activities, the history and trends in the development of science and technology in the relevant fields, outstanding scientists, engineers and inventors, as well as to acquire basic knowledge of the electronic component base, technology and basic parameters of radio electronic systems, characterizing the efficiency and quality of their functionality
Objective
  • During the study of the discipline students must acquire the skills of independent work with the sources of scientific and technical information, the ability to make reviews and presentations on a given topic. Mastering the discipline contributes to the acquisition by students general cultural and professional competencies, the ability to identify the natural-scientific essence of the problems arising in the course of their future professional activities.

  • Areas of professional activity in which bachelors are in demand, areas of radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications, automation and control, medical engineering, instrumentation are the creation and operation of electronic devices and systems, electronic component base, including micro and nano electronics, and are designed to transmit, receive and process information, obtain information about the environment, about natural and technical objects as well as to control various technical facilities in all spheres of the national economy and national defense.
Learning outcome: applying knowledge and understanding
  • - perform scheduled, routine and preventive maintenance on the current equipment of transport and data transmission networks; - collect and analyze data on the operation of radio communication networks and the equipment used in them; - carry out work on the equipment to replace the software, implementation of new services and services; - identify, record and repair equipment malfunctions; - check the functioning of the equipment after restoration and commissioning. Basic necessary skills for the development of link equipment: - analyze traffic, statistics, and calculate interfaces of internal network directions; - carry out calculation of network throughput capacity; - make decisions on operational reconfiguration of the network, changing the parameters of the switching subsystem, network platforms and equipment made by new technologies; - change the parameters of the switching subsystem, traffic routing, routing codes assignment, organization of new and expansion of existing directions of communication - register new network elements and signaling point codes; - prepare technical specifications for connection to the networks of other communications organizations and issue technical specifications for connection to their own communications networks.

  • Each of the basic labor functions consists of a number of more detailed labor functions, which are characterized, in their turn, by the necessary labor actions, skills and knowledge. It is obvious that the formation of the necessary knowledge of the student at the first stage of his educational-professional activity is carried out by the university, and the necessary skills are formed during all kinds of practices, including at the enterprises.

  • after receiving a task or independently putting forward an innovative idea, the engineer-developer conducts preliminary scientific research, carries out design, develops functional and circuit diagrams, then independently or with the involvement of designers and technologists produces design and technological documentation, participates in the preparation of production, and after the production of a prototype participates in its preliminary and acceptance (state) tests, during which the assembly and testing is carried out.
