From January 22 to 24, a delegation from D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU) took part in the international educational technology exhibition BETT UK 2025 in London, where they presented the "SMART GUIDE" project developed by university students. BETT UK 2025 is one of the largest global exhibitions in the field of educational technologies and serves as an excellent platform for sharing the latest edtech innovations and ideas to enhance learning through technology.
The "SMART GUIDE" project was created by students of EKTU's "Mathematical and Computer Modelling" program and is the result of innovative work carried out in the Lu Ban Workshop. The project aims to facilitate the learning process and increase student performance through the use of modern technologies.
From the very first day of the exhibition, scientists and experts from Mexico, the UK, Hungary, and Slovakia showed keen interest in the project, noting its potential to improve educational processes and develop smart learning tools. Dorian Silver, founder of the SPYRO company, also praised "SMART GUIDE," stating that the rapid development and implementation of the software demonstrate the high efficiency of the team and its ability to swiftly integrate cutting-edge technologies into practical applications.
The software component of "SMART GUIDE" was recognized for its functionality, stability, and adaptability, which are seen as key factors for its long-term success. We take pride in the talented students who developed this project: D. Borozhenets, A. Smirnov, A. Beissekenov, and A. Revin, and we especially acknowledge the contribution of the project supervisor, Yelzhan Aidarkhanov.
In addition, the projects "VR Tour of Lu Ban" and "VR Car Disassembly Simulator" were developed by staff from the Center for IT Competence and Technology Transfer. These initiatives were created by Zhumabek Elaman, Malikov Madi, Moldakanov Madiyar, and Kaygorodova Viktoriya under the guidance of Ruslan Kayratovich Chettykbayev. These technologies showcase a high level of interactivity and adaptability, offering new opportunities for learning and professional development.
In today's competitive tech landscape, the project opens new avenues in education and stands as a unique example of the integration of technical education and innovation. The creative initiatives and scientific endeavors of EKTU students will undoubtedly make a significant contribution to the education system not only in Kazakhstan but around the world.
