The educational program "Economics" has two learning paths:

• economics in the sphere of material production;
• economics of e-business.

Normative terms for mastering the educational program "Economics":

• full-time study:
  • 1) on the basis of secondary education - 4 years;
  • 2) on the basis of secondary vocational education - 3 years,
• extramural form of study:
  • 1) on the basis of secondary vocational education - 3 years;
  • 2) on the basis of the higher education - 2 years.

Academic degree obtained by graduates of the specialty 5В050600 "Economics": Bachelor of Economics.

The mission of the educational program is to achieve the provision of high quality educational services in the field of higher education, leadership in the national space for training personnel in the specialty 5В050600 "Economics" through the realization of the Bologna Process principles and modern quality standards.

Aims of the educational program

In the field of upbringing, the aim of the educational program is the formation of students' social and personal qualities: purposefulness, organization, diligence, responsibility, citizenship, sociability, raising their general culture, tolerance.

In the field of teaching, the aims of the educational program are:

• satisfaction of society needs and the country in highly educated and harmoniously developed specialists who have modern knowledge in the field of economics;
• satisfaction of the individual's need for mastering social and professional competencies that can be claimed in the labor market and in a society capable of social and professional mobility.

The objective of the educational program is the formation of the graduates' readiness to demonstrate the ability to apply the knowledge gained for the development, adoption and implementation of decisions in the conditions of free entrepreneurial activity, readiness to perform functional duties in economics, analysis and management; using of results in practice and aspiration to self-development, skill improvement.

Upon completion of the studying, the graduates must:

Know:

• the basic legal documents regulating the sphere of professional activity, concerning the functioning of the economy, its branches and economic entities;
• state legislative acts, resolutions;
• fundamentals of mathematical analysis, probability theory, statistics for solving economic problems;
• basic concepts, categories, tools of economic theory;
• methods of state regulation of the economy, directions of the state economic policy;
• modern ways of collecting, storing and processing information, the basis of information technology;
• theoretical foundations and patterns of economic development at the macro level, the economic mechanism of the enterprise;
• bases of accounting and audit, financial management, international economic relations.

Be able to:

• apply methods and means of cognition for intellectual and cultural development and improvement, enhance professional competence;
• analyze the interrelationships of economic processes, phenomena at the macro and micro levels, identify problems, suggest ways and means for their solution, and evaluate the expected results;
• critically evaluate the behavior of economic agents, the trends in the development of objects in the sphere of professional activity from various sides (industrial, motivational, institutional, etc.);
• use basic and special methods of economic information analysis, systematize and summarize information, prepare surveys, reports on professional activities;
• calculate on the basis of standard methods, taking into account the current legal framework, macroeconomic indicators and socio-economic indicators of economic entities;
• develop and justify options for effective economic solutions;
• be able to use computer technology in user mode to solve economic problems;
• use methods of economic and mathematical modeling and optimization of performance indicators of economic entities with the use of computer technology.

Have a grip on:

• using of special economic terminology and the vocabulary of specialties in at least one foreign language;
• self-mastery of new knowledge, using modern educational technologies;
• professional argumentation when analyzing standard situations in the sphere of forthcoming activities;
• using of methods of economic analysis of the production and economic activities of the enterprise and its divisions and assessment of the company's market positions;
• development of investment projects on the basis of standard methods, taking into account existing regulatory and legal acts;
• using methods to assess the performance of economic entities, their financial status, determine the level of competitiveness;
• application of methods of labor standardization, principles and rules of organization and remuneration of labor, management of inventories, costs of the enterprise;
• possession of the methodology of planning, use of methods for developing general and functional strategies for the development of the enterprise;

In order to consolidate theoretical and practical skills of work and get acquainted with the methodology of conducting practical work, students already undergo industrial practice, which is organized at the enterprises of the region and the city.

Sphere of professional activity: economic, strategic, investment, consulting, scientific-research structures, large companies and organizations, medium and small businesses, ministries and public administration.

About 30 teachers take part in the preparation of bachelors in the specialty "Economics", of which 15 teachers have a scientific degree.
