The overall objective of the department work – is to increase the level and quality of preparation of bachelors, undergraduates, doctoral candidates on a foreign language by formation at their communicative, professional, linguistic, pragmatical, discursive and socio-cultural competence.
The purposes, problems, approaches and principles of training of foreign languages at the department of FL define the basic directions of training process:

- A continuity and continuity of training
- An openness of training and autonomy of training
The Department carries out a project "A phased transition to English language education", which involved 10 English teachers, 55 teachers majoring in the departments this university, 96 students of 1, 2, 3 courses. According to the aims of this project, the leveled training of students and teachers of English, the preparation for passing IELTS / TOEFL exams to get international certification are provided.
Highly skilled and certified teachers who have passed foreign training, as well as young teachers - graduates of faculties of foreign languages work at the department.

Teachers of sub-department conduct a practical training for the 1st year students at all schools of EKTU on all specialties of daytime training, and distant training.
